Six Brazilian fighters fought at UFC Apex. In the main card, Bruno Blindado debuted with a victory over countryman Wellington Turman with a knockout. Dhiego Lima was defeated by Matt Brown. In the undercard, Virna Jandiroba overcame Kanako Murata. Netto BJJ and Lara Procópio were defeated by Ricky Glenn and Casey O’Neill, respectively.

Korean Zombie wins against Dan Ige and recovers in the UFC

Well-focused, Chan Sung Jung and Dan Ige adopted a cautious strategy in the beginning, but the Korean Zombie got closer and applied a takedown. In the second round, both athletes achieved good moments and brought a new level to the bout. At the end of this round, Korean Zombie fighting on the ground almost submitted his opponent with a rear naked choke.

In the third round, Chan Sung Jung almost ended the fight, again, on the ground. In the fourth round, Ige tried to attack more and Jung defended well. In the last round, Jung kept dominating eventhough Ige attacked more to score more points in the end. Sung Jung won by unanimous decision and recovered from his last defeat against Brian Ortega and dreams about a title shot.

Bruno Blindado KOs in his UFC debut

Wellington Turman showed his strategy and took down Bruno Blindado, who got up quickly and pressured his opponent against the fence. Turman kept on seeking the fight on the ground, but Blindado punished on the ground and pound when he had the chance. Some blows blacked out Turman and the referee stopped the fight. Then, Bruno Blindado debuted with this victory and Wellington lost for the second time in a row.

Matt Brown knocks out Dhiego Lima

Dhiego Lima, with accurate low kicks, hit harder Matt Brown, who tried to push the Brazilian fighter against the fence. In the second round, Dhiego Lima kept moving and attacking with low kicks while the American defended. Then, one of Matt Brown’s punches was perfect and knocked Lima out. Brown recovered from two losses in a row while Lima lost for the second time.

Virna Jandiroba overcomes Kanako Murata

Virna Jandiroba didn’t lose time and attacked Kanako Murata. The Japanese counter attacked clinching and pushing the Brazilian against the fence. Then Murata escaped from a triangle and an arm lock. In the second round, Jandiroba kept attacking in a close range.

Before the third round started, doctors saw Kanako Murata and due to her injured left arm during that arm lock, the fight was stopped and the Brazilian declared winner. With that victory, Virna recovers from losing to Mackenzie Dern while Murata loses again after an eight-win sequence.

Netto BJJ is knocked out in few seconds by American

Rick Glenn vs Joaquim “Netto BJJ” was short but intense. After a left punch, Glenn started a series of blows that Netto wasn’t able to defend. Then, Glenn increased the punishment and the referee stopped the fight declaring the American the winner with only 37 seconds. Glenn recovered from losing to Kevin Aguilar while Netto BJJ lost for the second time in a row.

Lara Procópio is submitted by Australian

Right from the start, Lara Procópio and Casey O’Neill exchanged blows and O’Neill clinched and tried a takedown well-defended by Procópio. Then, the Brazilian applied some hard punches and won the first round. In the second round, O’Neill seeked the striking game but the Brazilian took it to the ground. O’Neill answered with a hard ground and pound.

In the last round, Lara Procópio was taken down and punched in the face. Casey O’Neill, then, worked on the ground and applied a rear naked choke towin. The Australian remains undefeated in MMA, with seven wins and Lara Procópio lost for the second time in three fights in the UFC.
