Um card de alto nível foi visto no último sábado (28), pelo Bellator 228, na Califórnia (EUA). Das 13 lutas na edição, oito delas terminaram em nocaute ou finalização, um evento empolgante para os fãs de MMA. Uma das grandes atrações ficou por conta da vitória relâmpago de A.J. McKee, que precisou de apenas oito segundos para nocautear Georgi Karakhanyan e avançar no GP dos Penas da organização. Curiosamente, o pai do lutador, Antonio McKee, também entrou em ação e, aos 49 anos, derrotou William Sriyapal por nocaute técnico, emplacando seu 30º triunfo no MMA.
O evento contou ainda com boa atuação dos brasileiros. Se na luta principal, Lyoto Machida foi derrotado por Gegard Mousasi na decisão dividida dos jurados, Patrício Pitbull, Leandro Higo e Weber Almeida saíram com boas vitórias diante de Juan Archuleta, Shawn Bunch e Castle Williams, respectivamente.
