Cinco finalizações marcaram o card do UFC Newark, que foi realizado no último sábado (3), em Newark (EUA), no entanto, três delas ficaram notabilizadas pela demora do árbitro em interromper o combate. A falha mais evidente ocorreu no duelo entre Antonina Shevchenko e Lucie Pudilova, no card preliminar, onde a irmã da campeã Valentina Shevchenko estava com a posição claramente encaixada e a tcheca, claramente, não oferecia mais resistência, com a interrupção vindo segundos após Pudilova já estar completamente “apagada”.

Outros duelos que tiveram interrupção mais tardias foram entre Jim Miller e Clay Guida e Gerald Meerschaert x Trevin Giles, onde Miller e Meerschaert saíram vencedores, respectivamente. Além disso, Matt Schnell e o brasileiro Cláudio Hannibal foram os outros que triunfaram por finalização, todavia, sem polêmicas envolvendo interrupções.
